Add Customer Tag

The Add Customer Tag feature lets you automatically add tags to Shopify customer accounts when a form is submitted.

Customer tags help you:

  • Segment customers (e.g. Wholesale, VIP, Newsletter)

  • Identify where customers come from

  • Trigger workflows in other apps (email marketing, CRM, automation tools)

🏷️ Two Ways to Add Customer Tags

You can add customer tags in two different ways, depending on your use case:

  • Fixed Tag Adds a predefined tag every time the form is submitted (Example: wholesale, contact-form, newsletter)

  • Dynamic Tag Creates a tag based on the customer’s form input (Example: tagging customers with their selected role, country, or business type)


✅ When Are Tags Added?

Customer tags are added:

  • After the form is successfully submitted

  • To new customers or existing customers (based on your form setup)

  • Automatically, without any manual action
