# Button

Show a choice list as large tappable buttons — easy to hit on a phone.

The **Button** field asks the same kind of question as radio buttons or checkboxes, but draws every choice as a large tappable button. Use it where the answer set is short and the form is mostly filled in on a phone — a *Pickup or delivery?* question, a T-shirt size, or which day a customer wants their consultation.

## 🔧 How to Set It

In the form editor, click **Add element** > pick **Button**.

The field is added and its settings open on the left.

## 🔧 Settings

Only the settings specific to this field are listed here. **Label**, **Placeholder**, **Description**, **Required**, **Hide label**, **Column width**, **Conditional display** and the rest of the shared settings work the same on every field.

### **Options**

The list of choices, one button each.

Click **Expand** to see and edit the **Value** alongside the **Label.**

**Bulk add Option** to paste many at once.

> **⚠️ Note:** Only the **Label** can be translated. The **Value** stays the same across all languages.

<figure><img src="https://2907469752-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FehM2rz7MmKkWcJmgvJOe%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-0a46538bd2de5426965e7b3ab03265ae9af56dcd%2F2026-10-02_17-31-27.png?alt=media" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### Enter Default Value

Pre-selects a choice when the form loads, so the visitor only needs to adjust from there.

> **⚠️ Note:** Must match an option's **Value** exactly — a typo means nothing gets pre-selected.

### Other Option

Adds an extra **Other** button with a write-in box beside it. **Other label** (default "Other") and **Other placeholder** (default "Enter other option") appear once it's on.

### Multiple Selection

Turn this on and they behave like checkboxes instead — the visitor can select several, and tapping a chosen button again deselects it.

Turning it on reveals **Limit selections**, then **Min selections** and **Max selections**.

**Example:** *"Which services do you need?"* turns on **Multiple selection** and **Limit selections**, with **Min 1 / Max 3** — the visitor must pick at least one, but no more than three.

> **📌 Note:** Outside the range, submission is blocked with a message naming your number, like *"Please choose at least 2 options."*

## 🔄 How It Works

**What's saved:** Each selected button's **Value**, not its **Label**. With **Multiple selection** on, every selected value is stored.

## ⚠️ Limits & Notes

**Keep labels short.**

Buttons sit side by side and wrap when they run out of room — a long label produces one oversized button. If a choice needs explaining, put the detail in **Description**, or use **Radio buttons** instead.
