Email verification

If you'd like to make sure users verify their email before their form submission is fully accepted, our app supports Email Verification. When enabled, customers will need to verify their email address via a confirmation email.

This is a great way to prevent spam or ensure only real users complete your forms.

🛠️ How to Set Up Email Verification

Steps

1. Open the app > click Forms > open the form you want to edit

2. Click the Integration icon on the left side > enable Shopify and click on Shopify option

3. Select Shopify Account options > select Send email invitation

4. Select the shopify attributes (on the right) to map with form fields (on the left). For example the Last name field of the form should be mapped with Shopify last name attribute,

⚠️ Email field on the form is required to be mapped with email attribute of Shopify.

5. Add customer tag, note, metafield and select Marketing status of customer account (optional)

6. Save the form to apply the change

📧 How Email Verification Works

Require email verification workflow

1️⃣ Customer submits the form

The user fills in the registration form and enters their email address.

2️⃣ Shopify sends a “Verify Your Email / Activate Your Account” email

Once the form submission is received:

• Shopify automatically sends a Customer Account Invite or Activation Email to the user

• The email contains a verification link

• This email comes from Shopify, not the app

Example:

“Click the link below to activate your account”

3️⃣ Customer clicks the link to verify their email

When the customer clicks the email link:

• Shopify verifies their email

• They are asked to set a password

• Their account becomes active

4️⃣ Customer appears in Shopify → Customers

Once activated, the customer profile is created based on the form data.

The account will show:

• Name

• Email

• Phone

• Address

• Tags, notes, or metafields you mapped

⚠️ Important Notes

• Email verification only works when Send email invite is selected

• The customer cannot log in until email is verified

• Shopify handles the email and activation link — not the form app

• Make sure your sender email is verified in Shopify Settings → Notifications
